About Mabon/Autumn Equinox and our Celtic Ancestors:
The autumnal equinox is the time when day and night are of equal length. After the autumn equinox, the days become darker and the night’s longer. The ancient Irish used the sky as both a clock and a calendar.
This solar celebration was to give thanks for the fruits of the earth and harvest. The festival was an acknowledgement of the harsh times & dark days of the winter season to come.
How is the wisdom of Mabon/Autumn Equinox relevant to our modern lives?
Mabon is an invitation for us to reconnect to the earth. A time to give thanks and prepare for the winter days ahead. Through connecting with the wisdom of Mabon, we can combine with nature to teach and heal ourselves.
