Join Tia McCaughey and Darragh Finlay for our Mabon/Autumn Equinox celebration and retreat on Sunday the 8th of September, Annaverna House and Estate Ravensdale Co. Louth.

September 8 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm

About Mabon/Autumn Equinox and our Celtic Ancestors:

The autumnal equinox is the time when day and night are of equal length. After the autumn equinox, the days become darker and the night’s longer. The ancient Irish used the sky as both a clock and a calendar.

This solar celebration was to give thanks for the fruits of the earth and harvest. The festival was an acknowledgement of the harsh times & dark days of the winter season to come.

How is the wisdom of Mabon/Autumn Equinox relevant to our modern lives?

Mabon is an invitation for us to reconnect to the earth. A time to give thanks and prepare for the winter days ahead.  Through connecting with the wisdom of Mabon, we can combine with nature to teach and heal ourselves.

About Annaverna House & Estate:

Annaverna House and Estate is an impressive Irish Georgian Mansion built in 1790, nestling in 100 acres of mature hillside parkland with beautiful walled-in ornamental and vegetable gardens. The house and estate is the home of the Lenox Coyngham family and is host to many concerts, plays, charitable events and meditation retreats.

This unique picturesque location with rivers, woodland and rolling countryside is the ideal location for our Mabon Celebration.

About the Day:

Our Mabon celebration and registration will start @ 9.30 am.

After registration, we will have an orientation, freshly cold-pressed grounding green juices, teas and coffees.

The morning time will include a grounding meditation to connect to the site and a talk on the relevance of Mabon to our modern-day lives.

The schedule will continue with an Eco-Art Therapy class in the forest. All materials provided.

Eco-Art therapy combines art with nature connecting activities. Eco-Art believes that through Mother Nature, we can teach and heal ourselves.

After the morning session, we will have a beautiful vegetarian lunch using organic produce from the garden.

The afternoon will include time alone for self-reflection and exploration of the estate.

Our celebration will conclude with a Mabon Celtic Ritual and Meditation. The festival promises to be a day of reconnection with the wisdom of our Celtic ancestors and the land.
